Case study
Chromology Brand + Logo System
The Chromology project documents an end-to-end brand and logo iteration cycle, including a structured logo review covering grayscale baselines, fuzz variants, saturation masks, and effects-driven treatments. The selected mark and a white transparent variant ship as the working brand assets.

The brief
Challenge
Avoid the common brand-iteration trap where dozens of variants are explored but no decision or rationale is ever recorded.
Approach
What we made
Ran a side-by-side variant review with labeled treatments, picked the final mark with reasoning, and shipped the working assets in a versioned repo.
- Iterated through grayscale baseline, fuzz variants, saturation masks, and effects treatments.
- Locked a single working mark and produced a white transparent variant for varied backgrounds.
- Captured the review as a tracked changelog rather than disposable explorations.
Outcome
Results
Delivered a working brand mark plus packaged variants and a written iteration record for future brand decisions.
